Lived in Nebraska, Iowa, and Louisiana;. Midwest is definitely the better place to have a family, but you are the one who makes where you live great. I was used to a country life, so now I have 6 acres in Louisiana and live a country life. When you are talking overall....sure you can say one is worse than the other, but as individuals, (edit....with freedom), you can have what you want in any state. So.....the USA is the only and greatest country I've lived in and it doesn't particularly matter where.

I've lived in Texas, New Hampshire, Louisiana, Wisconsin, and Alabama.

Best is easily Texas.
Worst is a tie between Louisiana and Alabama. I guess I'd give the edge to Louisiana based on crime, traffic, and air quality (yea, I'm talking about Baton Rouge).

I’ve lived in Louisiana, North Carolina, California, Okinawa Japan, Texas, Connecticut, Maryland, and New Jersey.

If I’m being objective, Louisiana is easily the worst state I’ve ever lived in and is probably top 2 shittiest states I’ve ever even visited.

Best to worst:
Okinawa
North Carolina
California
Maryland
Texas
Connecticut
New Jersey

Louisiana

I have lived in several states, cannot pick out a worst because my experiences were more colored by my personal situation at the time rather than wherever I was living

I lived in Lemont outside of Chicago. Nice town.

Towns in Ar. I've lived. Best to worst: Bentonville, Rogers, Conway, Little Rock, Fayetteville.

Honorable mentions for worst towns in Mo. Joplin, St Joseph. Actually Joplin might be one of the worst towns in America unless your hobby is meth.

Obviously the cold sucks, but a shite hole?

C’mon. It’s low crime, low culcha, great public schools, and Minneapolis is easily the cleanest big city I’ve ever spent time in. Add in the lakes and the very good economy and it’s a dang good place to live (if you can tolerate the cold, and that’s a big if).

Nice scenery out there but even Albuquerque was pretty halfassed for a major city.

“Sparsely populated” also doesn’t really describe how empty the state is. It’s basically Albuquerque, a couple areas which would be fairly small in other states like Santa Fe, Roswell, Farmerville, etc, and a bunch of Indian reservations and open land.

I lived in Harrison, but can agree with your order there.

I've only lived in Louisiana and Texas.

Obviously Texas isn't the answer here.

I've lived in LA, TX, CA and MA. Mass is by far my favorite and I'd love to end up back in that part of the country, probably Maine this time. All have good and bad. But I don't think I'd ever move back to LA.
