I have lived in three states, Louisiana, Texas, and Minnesota.

Minnesota is the worst sate by far. What a shite hole.

First the weather is horrible. Winter is 6 months with many days of sub-zero temps. Add wind to it and you get a frozen desert.

Second, Minnesotans brag about being friendly, they refer to themselves as "Minnesota nice", but they're far from it. They are passive aggressive and deep inside more racist than southerners.

Third, food is disgusting. I asked people when I first moved in: what's your signature dish? the answer is "Hot Dish". Really? what kind of shite is that. No seafood, food is bland, no such thing as Mexican food. Worst cuisine ever.

Finally, the state tax rate is ridiculous. I don't wanna have to pay for the bums to have nice parks. How many parks and bike lanes do you need! Taxes are insane, and now the progressives are proposing more taxes (20% gas tax).

can't wait to move back south.

Louisiana for me. Lived in Louisiana, Missouri and Texas. Louisiana had it's good, but the bad outweighed it. Missouri is a better place to raise a family, particularly in the major cities. And Texas is better than them both by a lot.

I've lived in Louisiana and Texas. I'm a God-damned OT stereotype.

I googled images for “hot dish Minnesota”....that looks like the most pedestrian meal ever. Dress it up with a Milwaukee’s Best and you are dining first class!

New York (Upstate)

It was beautiful for about a month and a half every year. The rest of the time was absolutely miserable, like living under a tupperware bowl.

I can understand not liking the really cold weather and the taxes, but summers and falls here is unreal...perfect weather, tons of lakes to be on, tons of biking and hiking. The fishing and hunting here is fantastic too. The “Minnesota nice” thing is a load of BS though, and everyone here knows it.

Where in NM? I worked in Taos for half a year and even it being a nice town, I disliked it more than the time I've spent in LA. Probably due to some nativist inclinations for the South, but holy shite, NM seemed like a complete shithole outside of the rich townships and Albuquerque.

I lived there and you're right about the taxes and wrong about most everything else.

The winter is too long, especially at this time of year, but if you're an outdoorsman winter is great. Ice Fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, snow skiing.

The best cuisine is the local game like walleyes, trout, deer, partridge, squirrels, etc.

The people are people. Some have their head up their arse and some are down home.

If you're not an outdoorsman there's a great music scene, theater scene, the Mall of America if into consumerism. Great bar scene if you're into drinking.

But I get it... It's late Febuary and still below zero and snowing.

It sucks and you have classic cabin fever.

April is just around the corner.
