re: What's the worst state out of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama?

All are elite states imo. Badass fishing, world class hunting and some of the most beautiful women on earth surrounded by amazing food and insanely hospital folks who all love Jesus.
Then I visit places like Massachusetts, Illinois or Nevada and somehow all of them are better? The people aren't as friendly, food sucks, fishing sucks, women aren't as hot and weather is worse.
I love Dixie

Agree if you extend "Black Belt" all the way down to the Florida line.
I have a lot of family in south Alabama and once you drive north out of the Fairhope area it's about like that Bay Minette ice cream shop video posted here a few days ago until you're past Montgomery.
I have a fond attachment to the area but "nice" is about the last adjective that comes to mind.
I wouldn't necessarily agree. Dothan / Wiregrass area, Enterprise / Andalusia, etc. aren't really any different than much of what you'd find in much of the Southeast - comparable to Valdosta or Tallahassee or Thomasville or Macon or whatever. Mostly perfectly fine places to live with relatively healthy economies (compared to the rest of the rural or small city South) and so forth.
The Black Belt specifically really stands out compared to those areas (or the areas north of it like Auburn / Opelika, Lake Martin, Tuscaloosa, etc.). That's an entirely different level of poverty that's more comparable to the Mississippi Delta or the Dakota Native reservations or Kentucky / WV Appalachia.

It was a joke. Based on recent threads comparing The Sip to The UK.
*sigh*

As someone born and raised in MS and have lived in Alabama for almost a decade and hope to never leave
1.Alabama
2.Louisiana
3.Mississippi.
As a native MS’ian I’d choose to live in MS over LA but they have a bit more going for them than MS. Although some areas of the MS gulf coast are tremendously underrated.

I get what you mean about that Alabama blackbelt region just being devastatingly poor and bleak.
However, Andalusia is a bit of an oasis. All those small towns like Evergreen, Luverne, Brewton, Atmore, Bay Minette, Monroeville etc are better than the Black Belt. But, 1/2 those towns are abandoned buildings, abandoned sprawl out the highways and the main growth you see in rural areas around them is a beaten up trailer arriving in the front yard of a decaying old house.

Pros -
LA - unique culture in US, food, music, outdoors, fishing, fun, football, one of best cities in the world in New Orleans, joie de vivre.
Miss - the coast, hunting, Dinner Bell
Alabama - jobs, fishing, best coast
Cons -
Disproportionate number of racists and harmful practice of the racist arts, circle jerk echo chamber politics, and low ceiling people.

Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, in that order.
Alabama is about 10-15 years ahead of LA in terms of economic development. Both AL and MS have benefitted from population growth on the coast, which is not really possible in LA for obvious reasons.
MS is gaining, though. But LA is def coming out of the post-COVID slump and it’s been win after win on the economic development front. If the momentum continues I think my rankings will stay the same. If they can do something about these homeowners rates, that would do wonders for stemming out-migration.
All that said, I think I prefer the shittiest parts of LA to the shittiest parts of both AL and MS.

Louisiana is the worst in terms of material quality of life, but it has the most culture and joie de vivre. Alabama is the best in terms of material quality of life, but it has the worst, most depressing culture and lifestyle. Mississippi is just a landmass of no account whatsoever.

Louisiana is doing a great job on the economic development front combined with improved education scores.
I think you’re going to see a point in time where LA, MS, and AL aren’t the laughing stock of the country anymore and instead it will be some states in New England.

It was a joke.
A lady buys an ad for her desired husband: must not hit me, must not chase me, must be great in bed. A few days later, a man in a wheelchair rings her doorbell. “I’m here for your ad. I cannot use my arms, so I won’t hit you, and I cannot use my legs, so I won’t chase you”.
Skeptical, the lady asks “how do I know you are great in bed?”
The man says, “how do you think I rang the doorbell?”
…also a joke.

Alabama stands ahead of the others
Overall I think Louisiana is better than Mississippi. Mississippi has higher highs and lower lows than Louisiana. Louisiana is a bit more constant, and has some X factors that push it ahead.
