Mississippi since it’s stuck in the middle.

Jackson is arguably the biggest shithole in all three states, but there’s quantity of shitholes in Louisiana too.
Technically true…but the suburbs of Jackson are nicer than any towns I have found in Louisiana (and I have lived in most areas of Louisiana). There is larger separation of socioeconomic class in Mississippi.

What's the worst state out of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama?
Honorable mention to Cajun culture too solidifies the #1 spot for Louisiana.

Arkansas
Only thing that’s keeping Arkansas afloat are the West Coast retirees settling in the Ozarks. And to be completely honest with you, there are mountainous regions all around the country that easily dwarf the Ozarks in scenery, vastness, and landscape.

West Virginia kindof sucks on paper too, but it's really one of the prettiest states for nature

What world do you live in to think Alabama has anything in common with these two states

People act like Alabama is the greatest state in the country
It’s mostly a backwoods shithole

What?
If anything Alabama gets most of the hate directed towards southern states from non-southerners

I've been there, and it is beautiful. Wild, Wonderful West Virginia is an apt slogan.

Preach!
It is arguably the most beautiful state east of the Mississippi. Vermont is a close 2nd IMO

I grew up in Louisiana and now live in Mississippi. Mississippi has Jackson, but the others have Shreveport, Montgomery, New Orleans, Birmingham, etc. You get the picture. The best is Mississippi by a mile. The worst is Alabama. Louisiana has great food and my beloved Tigers.

Having grown up in da Parish and lived in Alaska (off and on the road system), and now currently living in coastal MS.
Given current conditions/government and trends, ignoring the shitholes in each state...
AL>MS>=LA
coastal MS is better than SELA, but only because its actually on the up and up.
In terms of which place had the worst shitholes? Jackson is the shittiest of shitholes, but the delta part of NELA is a more rural, but of similar stature comparatively.
Monroe is basically Arkansas and Lake Charles is basically east Texas. Shreveport is Texarkana.
One thing is constant though, the more Baptist there is per capita, the worse the area.
