I do. Oddly enough the police report said I had no insurance and that my car was towed. It also said I claimed that I turned to early and hit him. LOL. I think the officer may have been dislexic or just got confused when he wrote it.
Might be time to move to a new state, change your name, and start over.

You need to call and have that corrected, right now. I think you’re underestimating just how difficult this will make your life.

Did you not read the report?
I was given a business card and he said the report would be available in 5 days.
I haven't been in an accident in 35 years of driving. I don't hit cars.

Sorry but that's what you get for living here.
Moving out of this shithole in a week and so ready to for my new car insurance to kick in.
What I am paying right now makes me want to shoot myself on a monthly basis.

the official document now has you at fault...should have got that straight before leaving the scene
The officer doesn't complete the final report at the scene. He just takes statements/witnesses, and completes a preliminary with markings, and compiles the report later. If a citation was issued at the time then this can be corrected as it will show who was cited and for what violations. Dispatch will also have record of plate of vehicle towed.

You don’t get to read it at the scene.
If it’s an obvious frick up and it’s easy to determine whose car is actually whose (and that he simply mixed up the drivers in the narrative) it’s an easy thing to rectify via officer depo. They frick up fairly often. If it’s really clear he fricked up, you can even request a revision - which they may or may not do, but I’m pretty sure there’s an avenue to request it. Get your insurer on it.

Not sure how they do it in your area but in Louisiana they don't give you a police report at the scene. You have to wait 5-7 business days
eta: My bad I see this has been stated several times already

I didn't sign a document when I left.
That sucks. Traffic accidents is one of the things that BRPD seems to do well. Officer gave me a form to write and sign a statement/description of what happened when I was rear ended a couple of months ago.

I think the rule is don't stop if you are uninsured.

Uninsured motorist claim. Sucks, but it’s why you have to carry it in this shithole state

If you’ve been driving 35 years that means you’re like 50. When’s the last time you got your eyes checked boomer?

when he files that report, this statement will be a lie..
no matter what the truth on the scene was

Uninsured motorist claim.
UM isn't covering him from being sued by the at fault party. it would provide coverage for the policy holders repairs and bodily injury.
His liability coverage is what the attorney will be going after, and you've got an initial document saying hes at fault. what a shitshow.

Get your butt to the police station and present proof of insurance. Then demand the report get corrected ....
You don't have to sign ......all you have to do is IGNORE and see where it lands you.

Uninsured or criminally underinsured motorists should be beaten every single day.

I would recommend hiring Gordon.
But if this guy works a cash under the table job, is receiving government assistance, and claims no assets are you able to win anything? If you win, would you be able to collect a portion of his government check?
