What's the OT's go-to cough medicine?

I'm having a problem. Mostly allergies which jump started a common cold, but now it's basically turned into the worst cough ever. I literally can't stop coughing and I feel like I'm going to die.
Went to the doc today and got a cortisone shot but that was it. What's your cough killer when you're basically about to cough yourself to death?
I'll hang up and listen. Also, in b4 Aids, PIIMB or any other TD memes you dudes crack yourselves up with.

honey
cayenne
tumeric
ginger
Knocks it out almost instantly every time.

Theres a pharmacy in Larose called Pitres. They make there own cough medicine. It works really good. It's like the old dimatap from when I was a kid.

Tylenol cold and flu or NyQuil during the day and DayQuil at night.

Cough medicine doesn't work for me. Peppermint oil on your chest and eucalyptus oil (Vics vapor rub) on your feet at bedtime, with socks on to keep from getting it on your sheets helps some.

Mucinex and hit the Tylenol PM before bed
I also do a pack of chicken ramen noodles with cayenne pepper and Italian season with a Gatorade zero. Cayenne will help drain sinuses & any sore throat you may have.
I know it's trashy to buy ramen, but damn does that knock it out quick for me
