In addition to some of the meds mentioned, Vicks makes a super strong cough drop that helped when I had a cold a few months ago. Also, eating pineapple and/or pineapple juice

Cough drops and water, water, and more water. The cough drops are so I don't cough my head off so much that I get in your current situation. The water to thin the mucus out to the point that it drains freely. Cheap prescription allergy med like ed a hist helps me too.

If I don't catch it early enough (sounds like you didn't) then I get a rocephin shot and methylprednisolone dosepack and do all of the above as well.

If I'm not mistaken, research only shows that honey can work in children, therefore, might as well try it.

If I have a cough that won't let me sleep, I will fall asleep with a cough drop in my mouth between teeth and cheek. It slowly dissipates over many hourse that way. I'll wake up in the am with a mouth that feels raw, but can always sleep all night without coughing.

I've never really found anything to work except codeine syrup and honestly I don't even think it does anything for me directly. I just have a good time and forget about the cough.

So I found some prescription cough syrup I had in the cabinet from 2019 called Polytussin. Took 2 tsp of that and it seemed to curb it a little bit. Hopefully the age doesn't affect the effectiveness.

It has basically all got the same active ingredients, so go to the drug stor and buy whichever looks the best. I like either NyQuil or Thera flu that you mix with water.

Honey and cough drops.

If that doesn’t work, codeine.

Vics vapor rub) on your feet at bedtime, with socks on to keep from getting it on your sheets helps some.

My grandmother would do this. Would use thick wool socks.
She lived to be 98.
