I guess I had a sheltered childhood because I believed in Santa until 7th grade when I asked if some Christmas story we were reading was true in front of my English class.

I have kids now and some little assshole told my daughter in 3rd grade about Santa. I was pissed then she turned around and told my son in 1st grade.

The way we hear common phrasing makes it seem as if it would be simple to spell, but it snot.

Hey Brother, you probably shouldn’t tell that story, or at least pretend like it happened in 4th grade or something.

(Believed in Santa Claus til the 7th grade )

I didn't believe that women actually enjoyed sex but tolerated it.

Same. I pulled a Homer Simpson backing into the bushes gif when everyone started making fun of the guy that started that thread.

I had a lot of misbeliefs until I was 24 and finally entered the real world. I used to think most people were pretty rational and hard working until I got into the real world. I also realized that a lot of intelligent people are just really good at one thing and are kind of just as ignorant as anyone else with other things.

Realizing that most adults are just as dumb and clueless as me was one of life's greatest disappointments.

I also unfortunately held this belief for far too long.

Also, it wasn't until social media came about that I realized just how stupid many people actually are.

And re: your last point. There was a girl I went to school with who would help me with our science labs in exchange for me writing her EH 101 papers. I would read the papers she wrote and wonder how she ever made it through middle school.. She's a doctor now
