What's the longest time anyone has kept the same password for an online account?

I created an AOL email account in 2003 and still have the same password. I know 22 years is pretty old for a password, but it's not a critical account and 99 percent of the emails are spam anyway.

I had a 3 letter password for a yahoo account that I created in 1999. I kept the password til about 4 years ago. Same as you. I don’t really use the email any more and no critical stuff.

I was gonna say, I’m not sure who has the record but I’d bet good money that it’s for an AOL account.
Someone emailed me from an AOL email last year and I genuinely hadn’t realized they were still in business until that point.

AOL is the first online password that I can remember ever having.

Still have my 1999 yahoo mail with the original password. So 26 years and still counting.
Been through over a dozen pc’s but the same people and account.
I have a 2nd one from about 2005 with the same person as signed up, plus the same people still working for logging into GE Technology for online training for radiology equipment that I have been medically retired from for a decade now. Lol
ETA: password abbreviation defaults to people/person in spell-check

I started my Tigerdroppings account in September 1805, and my password has remained “Password” ever since.

I started my ThySpace account about the same time.

I don’t think I’ve changed my TD pw in nearly 22 years. Probably should. And not use my real name. Oh well. I’ll post my social later if anyone is interested.

No you didn't they started making people change their password and create longer passwords at least 15 years ago.

That's what I was going to say. I've had the same four digit password for my Yahoo since '99 but I think I had to add 4 zeros to the end to make 8 at some point.

My ex girlfriend has had the same email password since 2004.

Don’t know what to tell you, but maybe I was grandfathered in or something. It never forced me to change my password, so maybe that was only for new accounts or for when you change your password.
ETA: found the email that shows the password change in 2016. Yeah so I was off by about 4 or 5 years.
