Russell, KS to Baton Rouge, LA (over 900 miles) solo in under 18 hours with multiple stops.
I also drove from BR to Chicago (920 miles) overnight, but I was taking turns with a friend. We made it there in just 15 hours.

I’ve driven NOLA to Santa Monica and back a few times in my life.. usually a straight shot on I10, but a couple times I’ve taken the northerly route up through Dallas.. it’s usually slightly less hot in the summer if you go that way.. anyway, I’ve generally done it in 3 days each way, but i think once i did it in two days, so that averages to about 950 mi per day .

I left Baton Rouge heading west on I-10, thinking I could drive almost across Texas in a single haul. As soon as it was about 9 pm, every motel on I-10 in west Texas was full and there was no where to get a room. Ended up sleeping in my car when I was about to pass out.
