Can he actually play? Honestly, I knew Tim McGraw kinda indirectly through friends back when he was at Northeast in Funroe. He could play but his voice was one notch above horrible back then. However, he chased his dream when others said you are wasting your time. Granted that his success story is a longshot but don't tell your friend to give up.

Used to have n old girl in church growing up somehow always wanted to sing "specials" and to this day I don't know why they let her. Her dad was a deacon I guess. She couldn't Cary a Tine in a bucket. The pianist would have to switch keys mid song to try to match her.

I guess, it's a lot of really hard strumming with a loud, screaming gravelly voice. He sounds like a super shitty Chris Stapleton.

This rt here. The music is just a hobby. He needs an actual career. Other famous musicians worked or struggled to live before they made it, most never do.

Tell him to start smoking weed, cigarettes, do lines of coke and drink whiskey, it will eventually change his voice or kill him.

Have you asked him "If you are serious about this, have you thought about hiring a coach?"

Then let the coach tell him he sucks.

Eeh...let him do what he's gonna do. A guy that worked with me did the same, he's had a paying gig with a country act for 8+ years now. Wasn't that good but he worked at it.

You only need one good song man. Let the man do his thing you never know.

Look at empty glass by Richard lebeouf. Local guy and great song. Everyone in the south knows the song but has no clue who he is.

Just let him do his thing. If the “cash me outside” girl can get a deal then your boy can to.
