stfu. it's none of your business. your dream is not his dream and your idea of success is not his idea of success. with musicians and show folk in the family, i know that sometimes just doing the work is living the dream. money is secondary to the art.
and stfu, his idea of art may be different than yours. you like luke bryan and i like bob schnieder. there's room for both, even if you suck.
when, or if, it becomes time to hang up the guitar, he will know it.
