There is nothing wrong with not going to college. I would not look down on a politician for that. But going to three different colleges and not graduating is not good. That shows there is some issue with discipline and finishing.

This can be an interesting post.
In my high school graduating class the valedictorian was a beautiful blonde with a great personality. She was offered scholarships to several Ivy League schools. We all assumed she would be attending one of those schools.
Nope.
She went to work as a secretary in her dad's business. I asked her why she made that choice and she told me that she was too afraid to leave our hometown.
24 of us went on to LSU. Out of that 24 only 4 of us graduated from LSU. I wanted out of our hometown very badly. It was like living on the edge of the Earth and cut off from everything. It was worse than Bunkie.

How many people look back at the stuff they did when they were a teenager and shake their head in disbelief ? I know I do. Some of the people on this thread who want to insinuate that Garret is not qualified to be a congressman or a governor because he changed colleges a lot when he was a teenager and never graduated aren’t being honest with themselves or have another agenda.
I knew Garret when he was a teenager and he was super smart, but never took school seriously. He never did drugs and actually didn’t even drink that much alcohol but still partied a lot.
Like most of us he’s grown up a lot in 30 years .He’s a totally different person than when he was as a teenager. Many of us are, myself included.

I've been critical of him so I'll chime in.
If you didn't finish college, and didn't practice in any type of career at all (prior to entering politics), what makes you qualified to "govern" your constituents?
This is kind of like Michelle Obama being qualified to be President just because she was married to a sitting President. IE, she isn't.
Which basically says a lot about being a politician in general, apparently there are basically no qualifications.
Based on the results from those in congress, I think most would question what we are paying these folks to do, besides many enriching themselves with insider stock trades, investments, and back room deals.

I never said he wasn’t qualified. But, to me at least, getting a college degree is as much about sticking with something and accomplishing a long-term task, as it is about the actual education.
It may not be a huge deal. But it’s also not nothing.
