This is the answer, I assumed 100% of the population already knew this though. Maybe it was everyone except OP.
When I was young, people from all walks of life smoked cigarettes. Now it's generally reserved for poor people and when they cost almost 6 bones per pack, po folks are the last who should be buying them.

Very few high school kids smoke cigs compared to when I was growing up. They smoke weed abd vape but not cigs. Everyone smoked cigs it seemed like when I was in high school 25 years ago. Cigarettes are a dying industry in the USA.

I’ll have a month since I quit smoking tomorrow.
Alcohol and drug free since Dec. 17, 2016.
A huge percentage of people in recovery smoke. I went four days without nicotine and I’m using the patches now.

If you’re going to smoke something it should be weed. End of discussion

I don’t know why people would start something that they know is both extremely addictive and causes cancer.
Pretty much everything good in life is addictive and causes cancer. News flash...none of us are getting out alive.

You should never, ever smoke...unless you want to look cool.

Anybody who smokes or vapes any substance is a little off.

Social attitudes have changed to such a degree when it comes to smoking, you might as well be shooting heroin.
Another great example of how pussy this country has become. For those that don’t know, that’s the late Justice Scalia DURING his senate confirmation hearings.

I'll never understand how people get addicted to cigarettes. Why even start in the 1st place?
I started at 14 because I thought it was cool. Addicted by 17, hard core addicted freshman year in college (2 packs a day), quit sophomore year in college and have only a handful since then and I'm 31.
I quit because a hot chick I brought home from the bar said I tasted like an ash tray after making out and it killed the moment.

It's because Nazis were the first to link smoking to lung cancer. Those people just don't want to be mistaken for a Nazi or a believer in Nazi science.

Pretty sure that's true actually.
At least the first to have public health campaigns against smoking.
They were all about some physical fitness. Which is funny, considering Hitler was a drug addict.

About the same but quit when we had kids. Not a good thing for a role model to do.
