The small towns in Iowa have more life to them than the small towns in the Deep South but the cities are pretty trashy and since big ag controls the state and dumps metric frick tons of carcinogenic chemicals into the ground and waterways cancer rates are higher than Louisiana there now and rising.

It appears to be a result of Chicago and to some extent Minneapolis leaking....culture....in to surrounding states.
Chicago literally busses people out there.

I’ve never heard of Iowa having a specific accent.
They actually do, though it's subtle and hard to describe. I spent 2 years in college in Iowa. Great people, period. Not the greatest place to live, but not remotely the worst.

Yall sure do hate black people to live and take so much pride in a state that is third black and heavily influenced by traditional black culture. Pretty weird
Racism = Fear of black crime. Now the ratchet, ghetto culture, everyone hates, even the participants. Doesn't everyone hate threats to their safety and security? Unfortunately, that is how black culture shows itself.
I had a white family next door who checked off those boxes, I moved.

Best water park in America 5 minutes away

It is nice. I have lived in Cedar Rapids all my life besides 4 years in the USAF and have never felt unsafe. We like our sports but are not psychopaths about it. Field of dreams is a must see if you visit. Gas station pizza (Caseys taco and breakfast) is a big hit. Breaded Pork tenderloin are usually bigger than your face... the family farm is sort of a thing of the past now...

Ugly women, flat terrain and bland food.

Beats the hell out of Louisiana.
Low crime rates, small towns, open spaces, clean air, pheasant hunting paradise.

I’d rather tornados. At least there’s insurance for them. Need basketball American insurance.

You couldn't be more wrong... Every state has ugly people and some of the most beautiful females are found in Iowa City and Ames. NE Iowa by Harpers Ferry and Marquette on the Mississippi River is some of the most beautiful country in the USA that nobody knows about and we supply most of the world with our bland food!

One thing you should know, they have a very low opinion of anyone with a Southern accent, and of the South in general. I didn't have a problem, I don't have a Southern accent, so it didn't affect me much. But if you do, you are starting out in the red, it can be a steep hill to climb.
The winters there are very bleak, by February you might have suicidal thoughts, I had to teach a course for 2 weeks in winter, I drank myself numb more often than I want to admit. Everything is gray for a long time.
The women all have big hips, not in a sexy way, more like 3 acres of cellulite.
One more thing, don't cuss, one F bomb and women faint.

Negative dude, I've spent time at Fort Dodge. Y'all's food and women, not good! Can't do anything about your women, but season your food!

I went to Iowa once, when I was young. It was someone I knew family members. They cooked and I remember the food truly not having much taste. They lived in the middle of no where. I remember them talking about how long it took their kids to get to school, once they get on the school bus. It was like 40 mins. The closest store to them was like 30 mins. The store they went to that had everything they needed was further away so they did a once a month shop at the further away store and then the 30 mins away store was where they went to get things they might have run out of or needed for something specific.
I remember there was a basketball goal out back and under the goal was dirt and for some reason I remember it being an 8' goal. And they had a daughter in her upper 20s who had recently moved back. The only reason I remember this is because there was some teenager (I was not a teenager yet) who kept talking about how good the girl looked, but this has nothing to do with Iowa itself. I do remember, for some reason, we were closer to Iowa St than to the University of Iowa.

Iowa is a low key great area. Especially up around the river is very pretty.
Uncultured, clean, quite, very good to great hunting.

Actually lots of rolling terrain and nice if you get near the river. Very diverse everywhere else..there are both white men and white women.

Went Pheasant hunting in Iowa.
It was awesome.
People were nice and let us hunt on their property.
Even gave us some home cooking to take with us.
