What's going on with Louisiana's "contact tracing"?

Wasn't this supposed to be a big deal and the way we were going to keep track and get a really good handle on the spread of the virus after going to phase 2? JBE touted hiring a bunch of folks and the fact that we were going to really pinpoint where "spikes" were originating.

Are we doing this full bore at this point? Why are we not hearing much about it, but just generalized statements regarding "numbers" with little context still?

I’ve been out a good bit & only one place took down my information.

Now I don’t know if they were using my reservation info to supplement the direct tracing questions.

Contact tracing at this point is useless, anyway. It is just a way for states to spend some of the federal money they are getting and the companies that run the contact tracing are probably getting paid well for something that is really going to have little impact.

I’ve heard the same tats here in NC but it’s BS.

I missed the call as I was doing yard work. Took me 5 days of hunting THEM down to get them to return my call. The number they gave me never rang and only went straight to VM.

Finally called the direct department of public health number and kept hitting zero until I got a live person who transferred me.

That’s a lot of effort on my part to participate

A decade? Longer than that. But good point.

I can only imagine how hard it is to deal with people who feel contract tracing is infringing on their rights so they won’t cooperate.

"Hello? Yes you have the right number but my name is Harold Seaward. No. No. My wife's name is Sandy. You must have some of your information mixed up. I suggest you check your database."

contract tracing

Hey, I don't have a single issue with contract tracing.

I said, and maintain, that CONTACT tracing is useless at this point.

To be fair, this was an absurd thing to try to take on. It would be impossible to actually do what they were wanting to do.
