That budget is plenty for a couple to spend a week to 10 days anywhere?

Its your 10 year trip. How many days are you planning?

A Napa trip and Northern California/ San Fran or whatever is a great idea for an anniversary FWIW. Don't plan on saving any money over Europe or Hawaii though...

Florida Keys is a good choice for beach activities.

For hiking and the outdoors, a cabin in the mountains up in Eureka Springs, AR; Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee; or Lake Tahoe could all be really cool.

Pump the breaks man.

Where are you going to go for your 50th? The moon?

For the rest of you guys: Start small with the anniversary gifts. You'll thank me around your 5th anniversary when she's expecting a weekend at a nice hotel instead of a trip to Japan to watch them dive for her new pearl tiara.

Hawaii was for a relative's wedding and Europe was our "let's get one big trip in before kids" trip. We usually only go eat out at a nice restaurant then poundtown for our anniversary each year. Actually, since our first was born we rarely go to poundtown after the nice restaurant because we're too tired and just want to sleep.

My wife and I went to Oregon for our anniversary a few years ago. We were going to go to San Fran and Napa, then looked into Oregon since my wife drinks a lot of Oregon wine. The flights from Memphis to Portland were a little more expensive than to San Francisco, but everything else there was cheaper. I probably enjoyed Oregon more than San Fran/Napa anyway. A couple of nights in Portland, a couple of nights at a bed and breakfast in wine country, and a couple of nights going up and down the coast.

depends if you want plausible deniability after the "accident" or if you are happy and want to keep her

i find its best to let her pick the place she wants to go, just present the "trip" as the gift and leave the planning to her so it really is everything she dreamed of

I'd spend a day or two in Napa, then a couple days in SF, then a few days in Yosemite. I've done that a couple times and it's an amazing trip

Did you make it to Portugal when you went to Europe. Very doable in that price range and one of our favorite trips. Went for our 10th anniversary few years ago with another couple.

Pound town

But seriously look into cabins in Utah or Montana. Get somewhere remote and off the beaten path. Could be an awesome experience
