re: What would your philanthropy be if you were a multibillionaire?

we're multiple billions here? I'd give at minimum 500 million to LSU. 100 million for a new arena, new library, and some STEM facilities. scholarships for OOS students too


I'd probably form some sort of organization that provided affordable healthy options for families. It's pretty expensive for your typical family to eat healthy, though there's quite a few million that don't want or care to eat healthy anyway

Form a secret society with a completely asinine end goal.

I'd pump a lot of money into the means of accomplishing it rather than just pumping money into failed institutions and handing it out.

A) i would pump most of my money into something like this. start in my small Texas town and expand if we find a good model

B) from somebody who works with black HUD apartment complex (from a Christian perspective, so feel free to tune this part out,) it's a simple answer. we need to find a way for moms to stop having children and dads to skip out on children with no consequences.

I hate abortion. I loathe it and find it to be an abomination. However I do understand that it can stop the escalation of poverty for a lot of people in that situation. The number one problem we come across is kids who don't have their fathers in the picture and mom is raising kids from 14-1 years old while trying to hold down a job. So kids find dumb things to do to deal with their pain, boredom, and hunger. Finding a way to encourage to have safe sex, or even the horror of sex in a committed or marital relationship to poverty will fix more than abortion, welfare, or any government funded program.

i haven't figured out how to do it yet, but when powerball hits a lot of money will go into it.

Lots of good ideas out there. Just off the top of my head I would fund diabetes research, give to St Jude and Shriners, make sure vets were taken care of.
