all the cleaning and exercising responses I’m seeing on here is shite she could be doing when she get off work…

Not if you have kids, especially if they are involved in sports or other extra curricular activities. At least not easily.

My mom drove a school bus so during school, but of course when we were out for the summer she was as well. Every week day was a day for something. She washed sheets and did some cleaning on Monday, Tuesday she cleaned the bathrooms, balanced the check book, etc. Wednesday.. I forget.. It might have included ironing but Thursday was grocery shopping day and Friday she mopped, etc. That's why everything I do has to fit into a system.. That's what I grew up around.

There was a system for everything. There was a certain way we had to fold the clothes. You cleaned windows after cleaning around them because if you clean them first then you could get stuff on them cleaning around them. Everything also had to have a place. You don't lose shite if you get in the habit of putting everything where they go.

But you at least knew what to expect every day. She also didn't like us to stay in the house once we did what we were supposed to do especially on Fridays when she mopped. I assume kids don't go out and play with other neighborhood kids anymore? But there is always something that needs to be done.

Be overactive volunteering at kids school. Likely on the PTA board. Find and spread neighborhood gossip.

2 kids here. Working wife

You are correct. Its not easy but we both workout 5x a week. Only works because we value working out more than staying up and watching netflix or HBO for 2 hours like most people

id bet the partners at the top 10 firms in the entire US barely cleared $1m a year in the 90s.

I call bullshite.
I overstated the time. It was actually about 25 years ago. Circa 2001. And, he is a prominent injury attorney who made his bones as an actual litigator--the one who everyone else would call when complex cases went to trial. I know he was knocking down $500K just as a senior associate in our firm, and the rumors suggested he was making double that on his side job. Not too long after I left, he took over as a named partner, and, based on the sheer number of billboards and TV ads, I would guess he is still over the million dollar threshold.

One thing you’ve skipped was “moan”.

Another: “beg”.

I could go on but a reasonably intelligent person can fill in the blanks….
