I was 5 years old in kindergarten. Ran into a kid head on during recess split my head open. Still have the scar. I also weirdly remember a girl in my class lightly running her fingernails over my skin and it made me tingle and I think I became a man that day
Also Ren and Stimpy and Rockos modern life were my favorite shows. I think that is what is wrong with me today

I was 7.
The Olympics were in Atlanta - my Dad was on a bunch of committees so we got to go and see things and events I didn't fully appreciate until years later.
The Braves were in the middle of their heyday, the Hawks fielded a 60-win team with Mutumbo & Co. that still couldn't beat MJ's Bulls, Nickelodeon was on television, and Power Rangers plus "Legends of the Hidden Temple," ruled the day.
We drank Surge, played every sport under the Sun, and listened to some pretty iconic music - even if it was a lot of Pop.
It's funny you picked the year, "1996." For whatever reason, I always identified this as the nirvana of childhood - especially if you were a young boy in Atlanta. Everything and anything you could have ever cared about in the world came right to our front door.

Whatever it was did not turn out as planned. Recently retired, kids are doing great, and all is good.

It's funny, I was at Centennial Park the night the bomb went off and it barely registers in my memory. We were a long way from the actual bomb though, and really only remember the ensuing chaos. We didn't even know it was a bomb until we got back to our car and they weren't letting cars leave. Took forever to get back to where we were staying in Marietta.

I was 12 in Edmond, OK.
Lots of bike riding all over town with friends. Stealing chromies. Sports every day. Had a girlfriend at a couple of different middle schools.
Basically my peak.

I was 5. Living my best life. Got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for my birthday. Had my first McDonald's burger. Just moved from the paradise of Natchez, Mississippi to Lafayette. Poor as hell but mom hadn't hit the healthy food trend yet so we ate mashed potatoes, corn, and hamburger steak often.

I was 3.
Baton Rouge.
I'm told I was a chill little kid who could name every single car going by on the road.
I'm sure my life trajectory was much different than where I've ended up.

15 living in New Orleans. The only cellphone I was overly familiar with belonged to Zack Morris.
Worked 40 hours a week as a lifeguard at the bayou Segnette wave pool. Made 4.50 an hour and thought I was rich AF.

I spent all of 1996 in Baton Rouge. I was a student until August when I graduated. Then I hung around for another 6 months looking for a "real" job. I lived in Sharlo appartments, which were fairly nice back then. I was living pay check to paycheck working multiple jobs. It was definitely good times but I was broke as hell. I also drove a piece o shite 1985 toyota pick up.
