I do have bouts with insomnia from time to time and cigs are the reason for it, I smoke too much in the evening time and all that nicotine keeps insomnia fueled. I cut back after 6pm, I've noticed a big change, but I've always been a lite sleeper most of my life.

Marijuana is the answer.

Exercise. Eat right. Stick to a consistent schedule, regardless of day of the week, at least for waking up and going to bed. Find a routine that works and stick to it.
Fill up your own time (if you don't do that, either others will do that for you or shite like anxiety and depression have room to work).
Learn a new skill. Build something. Sit down with a pad and paper and set some goals - for the week, month, quarter, year, 5 years - and then start working on them.
Life is complex, but not complicated. Do the right things and trust that you will get good results.

I got some strong sleeping pills for mine. It's like a supercharged Benadryl that can knock me out for a full 18 or so hours. I have to take it at least 4 hours before even going to bed so I end up not.

We've currently got our 2nd shift drone in the air. 3rd shift will be taking over a little early today due to regularly scheduled deep maintenance.

Opiates to nod off.
If you decide on heroin to save money just remember to snort it instead of shooting up, don't be stupid.

One of my best female friends has really bad insomnia and anxiety. It's amplified when she's not at home.
She refuses to take medication but says when she has a routine, working out regularly and eating well and not missing meals, it helps. I think she only sleeps 2-3 hours a night and then will sleep 15+ hours one random day every few weeks.
I actually talked to her this morning about it. She's on a 10+ day work trip right now and hasn't slept in 2 days.
I can ask her what else she recommends if you want me to. Dead serious.

What to do for insomnia and anxiety?
1. Cut back drastically on the attention whoring.
2. Concentrate on solving or diminishing your own problems and supporting your own life/family instead of relying on others to do it for you and stop trying to "solve" everyone else's problems.
BTW, I was wondering if this "topic" would appear today.

You can't fix it until someone who knows what they are doing has spent some time with you.
Get professional help. If you think it might be due to events in your life consider seeing a therapist and maybe an MD for meds that will give some short termrelief. If you've been like this for a long time, no matter how good your life has been, then you might see a psychiatrist.
Stop posting about it on Facebook, that's like pouring gas on a fire. You can't cope with the emotions elicited by reading some of the ridiculously stupid things that people say. You need as little stress in your life as possible.
