Go see a doctor and maybe even a shrink.

Not being sarcastic. But all of the meds for both problems suck for different reasons.

Being more active during the day and laying off the booze helps too

I share your pain, so here are my tips:

-sound machine w a steady white noise streaming all night. Helps especially if you are a light sleeper.
-lavender oil drops on wrists. It's proven to be very calming for the mind.
-half of an Advil PM about 30 min before bed. I feel like a whole one makes me feel groggy the next morning, but this is different for everyone.
-sometimes I will throw in a glass of wine with all that

Good luck!

Posting about my physical and emotional ailments on Facebook would give me insomnia and anxiety.

Turn your phone off 30 minutes before going to bed. Dark cold room. Loud box fan-white noise.

I had like five family members going on and on to each other about Ativan recently. It made me want in on it.

Full custody to the non-crazy parent is the only answer. Now that LA citizens pay so much in taxes, I'm sure the local nut houses are fully funded.

This is probably how the crazy cat lady started out

Go see a pshcy specialist and get on meds. Your regular doctor has no clue about this.

No caffeine after lunch.
Workout in the morning and not at night.
Practice meditation
Your heaviest meal should be breakfast
Lay off the hard booze and drink a decent priced glass of red wine before bedtime. Cheap stuff will give you an headache and that will add to your problem.

If you think anxiety isn't real, I know that you have never gone through it. Anyone who has ever lived with it should pity you. It is as real as you are dumb.

I think a big part of my problem right now is that the "used to" might actually be "still be."

You need to find the cause of your insomnia and anxiety. For me, eliminating caffeine from my diet entirely reduced my anxiety and insomnia almost completely.

Not here, but the supply is still pretty low.
