Always check the tires. I have a friend that bought one used. 50k miles. Everything was awesome except it needed new tires. The wheels were made to only to take one or two tires. $1500 TO $2000 tires. Dude had to pay for a wheel change to accept normal affordable tires. Apparently, the former owners tried to replace the tires, realized the cost and traded it in.

Swagger wagon. Seriously, the Toyota Sienna in SE trim is the minivan I'd drive if I had to go that route.

The new Dodge Caravan is nice. My next door neighbor has one. But it's a dodge so who knows how long it will run.

Back when the kids were young, we put 200k mikes on a 97 Grand Caravan with no issues at all. Did a lot of 12+ hr road trips. One of the smoothest riding vehicles I've ever owned.

2003 Honda Odyssey Touring was a great vehicle for us as well. The options were awesome.

Came from a 2008 Odyssey Touring and just bought a 2016 Toyota Sienna Limited.

The Toyota is quieter and more comfortable to me. Also, we had trouble with the VCM V6 in the Honda and I wouldn't own another Honda with that technology.

Also, I don't care for where Hondas exterior styling has gone.

Sienna seems to be the best right now. Odyssey is a close second best.

Sedona and Quest are a good choice if they are on sale.

I don't know anything about the Pacifica. It's probably very good. Chrysler sells a lot of minivans, and they that seems to be a segment that they are pretty competitive with.

Pilot is a minivan without the sliding doors. Same chassis. Same engine. Same dorky look.

yeah that sounds odd.

But it's for real. They use the PAX tire system, which is a run-flat set up. Only certain tires work with it.

changing to non-PAX wheels and tires voids the warranty.

quote:

"American Honda strongly recommends that you replace the original PAX tires only with new PAX tires of the same size and speed rating. Using any non-PAX tire/wheel assemblies on a vehicle originally designed for PAX tires poses significant safety concerns and is not recommended or approved by American Honda."

The best minivans are the Sienna on the Tacoma chassis.

and the 1000HP Honda Odyssey.
