Soooo...all one would have to have done was go to that far end...
and simply get your ankles wet by walking around and crossing over?
stupid people of the past.

You do know the tourist areas of the wall have been rebuilt right? The real Great Wall of China doesn't look so good.

So that's one end, but what about the other end?
ETA:
NVM I found what's on the other end.

You really think it would be easy to transfer an army of tens of thousands of men and horses carrying armor and weapons (while also maintaining rank) through somewhat shallow water? Not to mention having to face the defending army on the other side.
The Mongols found much easier ways to get through.

Super easy. Only the lazy would fail.

I’ve been there. Got shithoused there on the 4th of July. Great 4th just funneling beers on top of the Great Wall over the ocean.

Could those little guys even see over the wall?
Probably had to be on each other's shoulders, so cut that number in half.

People forget that Emperor Da No Chum made Kublai Khan and the Mongolians pay for that wall.

I hiked about 10 miles of of the closed of ruins of one of the sections. Was the coolest thing I’d never do again. So fricking dangerous and steep in parts. I did it on the 4th of July too back in 2015.

Did the same and actually got to camp on the wall. We paid this local guy who had a donkey take the tents and gear and he cooked breakfast for us at like 5am on the wall for a badass sunrise.

We were going to camp, but didn’t want to haul all the gear. Was there for the weekend for work and my coworker who lived there would go do explore with his buddies on the weekends. Was pretty badass. We got wasted the night before and after the first strenuous vertical climb, I had to stop to puke out one of the towers. My buddy snapped a picture of me doing it.
