Benadryl 2 hours before bedtime.
Do not take benadryl on a daily basis. It's almost guaranteed to be the cause of the high amount of dementia and alzheimer's.

If I take melatonin more than one day in a row it quits working.

I took lunesta for 2 weeks, no caffeine, no alcohol; best sleep I have ever had.
Didn’t need it after 2 weeks, kinda reset my sleeping habits, maybe

Tizadadiene [sp?]. A muscle relaxer that does a great job as a sleeping pill.

Don't eat late

Turn TV off when you get in bed

Read a book for 5-15 minutes

Train your body/mind so that when you get in bed it is time to go to sleep.

Might not be easy for the first few weeks but you won't need meds anymore.

At the local library they sell used books. I bought one on the history of the Korean War that is closer to 1,000 pages than not. So far it has worked every night.

I’ll tell you what not to do. Back in the day two Tylenol PMs. They would work but if you take them long enough apparently (according to Dr) the coating can lead to kidney stones. Never seen my old man in pain before. He was old school and would wrap his finger in 33 tape before reporting an injury and that man was humbled with those stones.

A nice joint around 7:30/8 always does it for me, and by 9:30/10 I’m dozing off.

Try the melatonin with Valerian Root.

Also magnesium helps.

Easiest thing that’s helped me..Use the bed for sleeping and sex only. Don’t scroll the phone in bed or watch tv in bed. Keep the bedroom cool and dark. A fan helps..the noise will help.

One of my biggest challenges in marriage was getting my wife comfortable going to be with the TV off. We've had a TV in our bedroom since we got married and I do watch it in there occasionally in the middle of the day while the wife watches something in the living room so I won't just pull it out. But she routinely went to sleep with the TV on, and the remote was bogarted on her side so I had to wake her up to turn it off. After threatening her for a year of going to bed with the TV off, I had to tell her no more. Now we rarely turn the TV on when we're going to bed.
