Way older than this age group and haven’t had a prescription in decades.

Good genes, good lifestyle choices, and a bit of luck.

I’m big on anti drugs but I’ve needed them recently for some chronic pain and I’m fine with it. I also have 2mg of Valium prescription and it’s great every now and then to take the edge off if I feel overwhelmed.

If you need something then it is what it is

My dad had open heart surgery at 38 and has been on a dozen pills since to manage type 2 diabetes and heart disease and he just turned 70

I’m 57 on 2 meds for BP and a couple of things for allergies (one could be OTC but is cheaper as a script). At your age I was on none

If I was a fatty, I’d probably be on just the allergy stuff but not certain, my older brother is on BP meds and has been since his 30s and always exceptionally fit.

Some stuff is genetics, some is choices, much is a combination.

Enjoy your 30s/40s, it’s not likely to get better

Synthroid for my thyroid

A lot of people who were very young when they did air burst testing of nuclear weapons are on thyroid. That band is in late fifties to late sixties age range now.

34 and currently on nothing. I have had 2 family members admit to me that they cannot get up and function without a Lortab which blows my mind. 70% of the US population is on some kind of prescription medication which seems crazy to me.

People don't take care of their bodies and would rather just swallow a pill than actually do something about it. That number doesn't surprise me at all.

My mom is 60 and has had 4 back surgeries and 1 neck surgery. She is a regional sales manager for GE and is on her feet most of the day, travels Monday through Friday, and sleeps mostly in hotels. She is on Percocet 4x a day, up from Lortab twice a day that started over 10 years ago. It works for her and let’s her do her job and the gradual increase over time let her adjust and not really go through the zoned out stage.

Who asks this? Dwight Schrute is that you?

H-I-P-A-A.

It's some random guy on TD asking it, not at your job, and he's probably not a healthcare worker who has your records.

I do get where you are coming from; you are probably posting at work, and I imagine some of the posters to look like Dwight.

I had to get a quick physical for Scout Camp last year, they require it for kids as well as leaders. I am mid-40's. She asked me what meds I take and I told her none. She was borderline shocked. Until that point, I didn't know how common meds were for something -blood pressure, diabetes, depression, whatever. She said almost every male over 45 she sees is on something. Part of that would be the fact that she's a DR and normally would only see someone who isn't feeling right but she said even for the well visits she does. Pretty crazy.
