Tesla is really close and it sounds like Waymo might be also. Tesla FSD has gotten really good, really quickly over the last few months. I love it and hope Elon was serious about licensing it out to other manufacturers. The more cars that have it, the better it will get for everyone.

Now, if my auto wipers could just stop phantom wiping on sunny days, the car would be nearly perfect.

Are you the guy honking and flashing at me when I’m going 80 in a 70 trying to pass someone going 75

No, I slow down and let you pass because I'm alert and aware, and I'm not a slave to my cruise control.

It seems like such a little thing, but constantly adjusting your cruise for traffic when going through a large city like Birmingham or Atlanta is really tedious and adaptive cruise gives you one less thing to worry about.

Exactly this. Game changer. I had no idea how much I would love it. Cruise control is nice until some dipshit gets in front of you, and then you go to pass (at your consistent speed), and they speed up. Just back and forth, back and forth. ACC nips that in the bud.

Paddle shifters. Never used, and I drive like a mofo, but the computer is faster than me when I put the hammer down.

I agree 95% of the time straight-line sucks, but in the right car, let's say you're doing some "recreational driving" and paddle-down to enter a curve, let it hold that lower gear to maintain the torque band, and pop it just at the right time as you're back in it... ohhh boy, there's nothing quite like that full-force feeling in a RWD/AWD automatic.

Auto dimming/bright head lights. Adaptive cruise control. Hate it. Slows down way too early for my liking. Seems like the car infront on me will be 1/4 mile away and truck starts slowing down. I have massaging seats, and never use them.

use every feature my bare bones pickup has.

In my 2006 chevy silverado, the only things I don't use are the child locks on rear doors and the cd player.

I made fun of it at first but I recently used the feature that hunted for open parking spots at an event when I had a car load of kids.

Does it fight the Karen for you when she cuts you off going the wrong direction to steal it?

Lane assist by itself sucks, but if your car has lane centering in addition, it’s a great way to stay in the middle of the lane while on the interstate and trying to eat your buc-ee’s

I had a VW Atlas as a rental recently, and it didn’t have any buttons inside for stuff, everything was through the radio or a touch thing. Plus it had lane keep assist. I didn’t like it at all.

Cruise control. I drive the car; I don't let the car drive me

So you're that a-hole who must be in front of me, but doesn't want to drive that fast, so he slows down and forces me to pass him, but he wants to be in front, so he speeds by and slows back down, etc.?

The lane monitor thingy in my 21 Grand Cherokee can be dangerous going through road construction. When they shift the lanes and don't completely get rid of the old lines, mine will try to jerk me back into a lane which isn't there anymore. Almost put me into a temporary wall more than once. So I turn it off by habit when I see orange signs for construction.
