I love those old motor inns.

Places we all used to stay back in the day.

I smoke pipes and prefer antique English pipe makers. I would love to be a pipe restorer.

Specifically, western hats.

A DJ. People stop me in stores etc. all the time to say that I have a great voice for radio. Some have even been DJs themselves. It's been suggested before that maybe I should look into recording E-books and the like.

My FIL worked in his Uncle’s shoe store in a small shop in Birmingham, Alabama back in the day. Many Italians owned grocery stores, delis, and shoe shops back in the day there. In fact there were nearly 300 Italian owned grocery stores at one time and most would consider them to have been corner stores for specific neighborhoods.

Not a trade but I just bought a metal detector. Been playing around in the backyard with it before I hit a park or beach.

I like to make old shite work and make it look good afterwards. So doing antique appliance restoration would be right up my alley.

A custom shoe or boot maker is far different than a cobbler. Except maybe in a big city there is basically no need for a cobbler anymore and you cannot make any money doing it. There is a legit reason why this trade / skill doesn’t really exist anymore.

I said a trade for a hobby, not a living. Like. Said, I would love to do leather work, build high quality dress shoes, maybe sell each pair to help to pay for tools, material, and my time.

There's actually a pretty big demand for this. Most of the current watchmakers are retirement age.

I know a couple guys that do this. They don’t do beaches, parks, etc.

They have old civil war maps, and they go in those areas. They will learn we’re a camp was at, and they know the garbage/shite areas were usually east (because of wind direction). They have found some pretty cool shite, including old rusted out guns.
