Despite having lived in BR most of my life I’ve never met someone who lives in one of these type houses:
I’m guessing artsy late 20’s to 30’s singles live there but the houses are owned by their parents or grandparents?

I used to mess with this redhead chick who lived there. Nights with her usually consisted of screaming and shoes thrown and broken glass followed by hot nasty sex.
God I miss her

I thought Spanish town was predominantly gay residents, or is that just the parade?

It's mostly gays and hipsters with some old folks sprinkled in. Also has a lot of non-BR renters.

That is where you'll find most of the crazy white liberals in this city.
The others live in the Garden District and Southdowns.

It's actually a really eclectic mix of people. Black, white, gay, straight, old, young, republican, democrat, anarchist, janitor, lobbyist, and whatever else.

It is full of the 21st century bathhouses for many many gay men.

It cracks me up that if someone doesn’t live on the ‘outskirts’ or in a suburb of a city, the OT labels them as gay.
Some people like to enjoy what a city has to offer and not sit in hours of traffic everyday.

There are plenty of gays in ST. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I lived there after college and it wasn't all gay.
Lots of hipsters and people that work downtown too. The gay people typically kept their places looking fabulous

It's the gay neighborhood in BR retard. You don't have to be gay to live there, but you have to live there if you are gay.

Spanish Town was gentrified in the 80's by a gay man who is now the head of the Spanish Town Homeowner's Association and is the Chief Administrative Officer for the city of Baton Rouge. It has been known as the trendy gay neighborhood ever since. They started the Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade as a gay pride parade that was a satire of Mardi Gras and politics. It's symbol is a pink flamingo for goodness sake! It's not like this is some slur, it's branding
