Yall got a McDs before Sonic?
my hometown has only had a Sonic for about 8 years. No McD, probably never will have one.
The town next to us has had a Sonic for probably 30 years or so, and a McDonalds for 20 years or so.

Remember that they are a global brand. They are in a LOT of countries where they aren't necessarily competing with a host of other fast food chains.

McDonald's only has one purpose for me. One or two times a year I get a sausage and egg biscuit. I swear that shite must be engineered to cure a hangover.

Maybe they are not as cheap as they used to be but they are still the cheapest around. Compare them to Sonic (knuckle check), Canes, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, etc.. You can navigate your way through their value menus and their deals on their app and eat for quite cheap. Not saying it is healthy or as tasty as other places but I think the cheap factor keeps people coming back more than anything.

Quarter Pounders are now made to order and fresh. Fries are decent right out of the fryer. Just got me some yesterday and it's a good quick meal if you don't feel like spending $15-$20 for a burger and fries. Breakfast is solid too. I am neither fat, minority, or poor yet I still enjoy McD's every once in a while.
