I am 49 and grew up with the brand being the most recognizable one in the fast food market. About 20 years ago, their quality truly took a downturn and their reputation moved far down the chain. They became the butt of jokes but still managed to print money on brand recognition alone.

I rarely ate their for years until about a year ago when I stopped by one because I was in a hurry and it was the closest thing to the interstate exit. I don’t know what they did but the double quarter lber was on the mark. I now eat there about once a month for a quick lunch and the quality improvement is consistent. In a nutshell, it’s pretty damn good again.

And the fries. Hot McDonalds fries have always been the best.

Believe it or not, there are rural towns that don't have the almighty Chic Fil A, Wendy's or Whataburger. Or Canes, or you get the picture. But what they will have is a McDonald's.

Truth. Around here every small town goes in this order: first chain is a subway. Then comes the gas station with a church's chicken. Then comes the McDonald's.

Weed and the fact that the taco bell across from McDonald's isn't open at 3am.

Faced them all, beat them all. All day breakfast has been great success. As a big stockholder, McD's been very good to me.

Childhood memories. Ronald and his Happy Meal toys result in brand loyalty at a young age.

McDonald's breakfast isn't bad for fast food. I don't think I'd voluntarily eat there for any other meal if there were other options available.

Showoff. My hometown in AL only has a Church's, but it is stand alone and not in a gas station. We don't have anything fancy like Subway or McDonald's

My hometown growing up didn't even have a McDonald's or any other fast food. We were all so excited when they built one when I was in HS

I was a kid when the McDonalds opened up in my town. I only remember this because I have heard the story several times, but on the first day of opening it had to close early because they ran out of bread. Then soon after, a Burger King opened, a popeyes.. Years later a Jack in the Box, which only stayed open for like 3 years.
