Quarter Pounders are now made to order and fresh. Fries are decent right out of the fryer. Just got me some yesterday and it's a good quick meal if you don't feel like spending $15-$20 for a burger and fries. Breakfast is solid too. I am neither fat, minority, or poor yet I still enjoy McD's every once in a while
Yup and the mobile deals are insane.
You want hot fries? Order on mobile app and no salt. Burgers too for that matter.

McDonald's value menu is still way better than every other fast food place.
They have better breakfast. Their coffee is good.
And then you still have plenty of fatties.

Their sausage biscuits, hash browns and coffee are good when fresh.
Their other stuff usually sucks. Dairy Queen and Whataburger are far better.

By 2018 fast food restaurant standards, they are:
Not as clean as some
Not as cheap as they used to be
Inferior product quality
Inferior employees compared to some other chains
Slower than they used to be
Are their fries the only thing keeping them at the top of the food chain (pun intended)?
Saw some poll on this. People know it's shite, but still go out of convenience.
And they have the most locations, open at all times, and I've never waited as long there as most of the other drive thru burger joints.

They have the most convenient locations.
They’re also usually the first fast food chain a small rural town gets. I know many towns around here only thing they have besides a gas stations deli or cafe is a McDonald’s

Strategic location. Every hospital I know has a McDonald's near by.

Breakfast
Senior cups of coffee and ice cream cones for old men in the afternoon

They had 22.8 billion dollars in sales world wide in 2017. Just think if they could get the ice cream machine working.

Worked for 12 store franchise group. Consistency of the food, quick service, and price is what built McD's. Most successful franchise story in history. McD's is also one of the biggest landholders in US. Stock has been very very good to me.

Minorities.
There, I said it.

Because white people don't eat that shite up at all.

The last time I went to Micky D’s was 17 years ago, there was a black womans fingernail in my fries, I swore I’d never go back, I haven’t.

They still pretty much out sell every chain in the entire world due to the volume of stores

Haven't stepped inside a McDonalds since high school. What they call food is the close thing to garbage you will ever see.
When someone close to me told me she wanted me to pick her up a big mac from there, I just laughed and she rolled her eyes and went with Firehouse instead.

I am pretty big into cooking, enjoy pretty good food now compared to years ago. So I don't go often but if I'm in a hurry in the morning I have no issue getting a sausage biscuit and hashbrown from there. Their coffee is pretty damn good and cost effective as well. I wouldn't eat there often but not going to act liek some entitled snob and claim it's disgusting. It really isn't. They have very strict standards that are absolutely higher than most resturants in terms of cleanliness.
I worked fast food in high school. I worked serving in college. McDonald's and Wendy's I worked at were both more adament about cleanliness and at resturants half the chefs don't even wear gloves. Major ones mind you. Worked at Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, and a local sushi place.

What keeps McDonalds afloat?
Everyone (fashionably / publicly) bashes McDonald's and pretends they are too good to eat there...
Yet, just about everyone on the planet stops at McDonald's every once in a while for a burger.

The McDonald's on Highway 11 @ I-10 in Slidell used to remind me of the Burger World from Beavis & Butthead.
LOL!
