Neither here, I wear AllBirds to the gym. Otherwise I don’t wear athletic shoes.

Currently, I have New Balance 574s and just ordered a pair of the Nike Air Max 90 customs. Both approved by my children ages 13-21.

My G-d you people are soft as baby shite. That much squishy stuff makes your ankles more unstable, but you eat the social media marketing like your wives do. You don’t need to walk on marshmallows, you need tougher feet.

Your hot takes are consistently awful

High stack stuff is common from beginning runners to advanced marathoning, but go off dude

Brooks, if I had to choose between just the two. I actually wear New Balance.

Not Hokas. I bought a pair and they are not "dad" shoes for just hanging around (for me) because I had to be moving lest I fall over backwards.

The pair I had had very little heel lip with a rounded back, and felt like I was about to topple over backwards when standing around on a hard surface.

I gave them to my 19 year old grandson an notice he doesn't wear them either.

Approach shoes they get you to a climb; they scramble and hold to most anything. And second pair a size larger with neoprene socks for whitewater. Soft bottoms don't serve you well climbing nor splashing in steep creeks.

two pairs that are 30 years long and still going. One might be twenty. This is the shoe Croc's copied but never came close, they're leather with cork insoles, and the most comfortable shoe I own.

Summer wet wear and most any boating.

Hiking shoes (3), hiking boots (2), rubber hunting boots, Black Allen Edmond's, British Tan Cole Haan, worked in Nocona's, winter insulated boots, some unpronounceable Italian leather slip-on, and numerous pair of climbing shoes.

To me your shoes shouldn't stop or be the limiting factor. They're like guns if you hike, paddle, or climb. And yes my shoe collection might out number your wife's. But as an old guy I don't give ahsit.

And having both gore-tex and non-GT is a luxury for sure, as is wearing the same shoe size for the last 40 years.

And oh yeah... 3 pairs as I said before of these. One's trashed, 2nd is for wearing out, and a dress pair of the original tire tubed tops (a real classic) plus wet feet are made to slip into these and I paddle 12 months a year. Sixty-nine last month - definite old guy.

I'm 50. I have the bottom 2 and a pair of Black and White. These shoes last forever since they are made for skateboarders.

Nike Pegasus 41 cured my plantar F. So I am forever in debt

365 days a year...this is all I wear.
At the office...at home...on the trail...at the grocery store...and at your funeral.

I don't get Hokas they look like Walmart shoes. I so lime the similar OnCloids though.

On clouds are literally shoes for dudes in their 20s. Any dad that is wearing them is either a young person in the target demographic or a dad trying to be young and hip still…. Or a coach.

They are absolutely not dad shoes!

Not even close. They're not dad shoes but I see plenty of people beyond 30 wearing them. Just look down at any major airport and you'll quickly see.

If Hokas didn't have a massive billboard on the side of them I might like them a little better
