Mine's the Mercedes AMG E63 wagon. Practical and badass and rare.

But given the quality of the roads around here in DC and NoVa and how Virginia so easily gives felonies for driving too fast, the better but less cool answer is probably the regular E450 wagon.

I'll have to dig up his website. Had it in my old job bookmarks, and been a bit since I spoke to him. I'll get on it, and send it your way over the next week. Been meaning to reach out to him to catch up.

Btw - for the record he does do it for personal hobby, but does have a side biz to rebuild/customize. Sells some he has to buy new ones, commisioned, etc. But has been doing it for decades, and lives out in CA (why the CA standards when he imports them). He has the importing plan down too, to make sure it's brought in properly, and good contacts to finding them. Super techy, developer type in his regular life. So yeah why I know so much, cause once you get the nerdy type talking about their nerdy shite...well we all know how that ends up. Ha.

Man, I wish they would sell more German wagons in the US. It's so much more practical than a sedan and you give up nothing. I'm not sure why sedans are even still a thing when you can have a wagon.

As much as I love my C300 it would have been that much better in a wagon which they didn't sell in the US. My dream rebuild, restomod, commuter car is an E30 wagon, of course they didn't sell it stateside.

I think I have my perfect car. I just wish the thing got better than 10 mpg mixed and wasn't broken all the time

I see you have never owned a Porsche.
I have, most reliable car of its kind (virtually of any kind) on the road and the resale was to the point it was almost free to own for the 3 years I had it (when all was said and done, my cost was about $50 a month to own and drive daily)....while your Ferarri's, Lambo's, and ZR1 Vettes come home smoking, metal popping and crackling, from overheating after a run on the track...your Porsche will pull right back into the garage like it cruised down the street for a grocery run and back.
Talk to any long time sports car or super car enthusiast... They are truly the finest, most perfectly engineered automobile on the road... in a league of their own....all alone.

Me too. The US just won’t buy wagons but salivate over bullshite CUVs. RS4 avant is better in every way to an SQ5 or even a Mecan Turbo.

The resto e30 M3 wagons are slick.

You clearly don't know what an impala weighs or how much torque that little tdi has.

More than the original v8.
