I’m not sure we want to know. Hopefully he sold it after they started skyrocketing in value.

The brakes are basically up against the differential in like a cage for the IRS mounts. A lot of work to get to them.

I do not lust for new exotics anymore, been there /done that...

Give me a multitude of rare classics and I'm good.

If you're wanting to make the "I don't give a shite about cars" point, you'd have been better off picking a Camry or Accord as those are large enough to comfortably fit the average family in and actually ride smooth and quiet. While still being inexpensive and reliable.

ETA: As for my perfect vehicle, I don't think it exists. My perfect vehicle would have the utility of a crew cab half ton with the fit and finish of say Lexus and the get around 35mpg combined while doing the 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds. Does that exist?

What does the location of the diff have to do with the brakes?

The brake rotors are inboard, located at the differential. The entire rear and most be dropped, benched, and disassembled.... just to get to the pads.... I don't what those engineers at Coventry were thinking but time was definitely not very important to them.

I can't stand people that think their lack of caring about their vehicle makes them any better than someone else It's a character flaw for sure.

I'm the opposite now I guess. Maybe just old. Last real (then real...) fast car I had was my first ever car. 87 Mustang GT Conv at 16. Only runner since was an Escalade with a it of a tune as it was the GM's driver. Wife had an E350 that could fly when floored. Heck, right now I'm driving my old 2001 Expedition I brought my daughter home in. Still pretty prestine and fine for toodling around in. I want that 911 so badly. Either I'm too frugal or too lazy or both.

Thanks. I was just about to post a similar photo. Great pic of just one of the bewildering engineering ideas from Coventry. The E-Types are wonderful, almost breathtaking cars when they are running up to spec... not so wonderful at maintenance/repair time. "Over-engineered" may be the best way to describe.

I assume they thought bringing weight to center mass was key. That pic is interesting

Ha yea, my explanation wasn’t the most technical but I think it got the point across.

Yep, but I want one in Irish Green, and I'd weant it spec'ed the same way the millionth 911 was.

Pics of millionth 911 for reference.

That's a good pic Captain. I guessing the linkage above the input pinion is to the emergency brake?

Yeah it's the guy who claims he doesn't care about nice cars or status symbols. Then he buys a $600 cooler to impress his friends
