I’m on fifty acres in WNC. I’m prior military and a little paranoid. Come at me, baw.

I do agree with you though that it’s important to have a diverse group.

I don't have one, but my grandfather has a ranch in a tiny town in MT with like a year plus supply of food and alcohol. I'll just go bunker down there.

I mean hurricanes don’t exactly sneak up on you.

If it really hit the fan (I’m talking civilization gone), then I’m not sure I want to live with no AC, no antibiotics, no pain killers, and no mosquito repellent for the rest of my life. I just rather checkout on the front end.

Saying all that, I ain’t worried about no hurricane

I thought you were talking about BLM and the throwdown in the streets ? It could be a PPV event.

Leave the wife and kids to fend for themselves and head for the deer camp.

We don’t have a ranch, but we do have chickens, rabbits, and a huge family garden. Sustainability is the goal and we’re way ahead of most as it stands now. I imagine your grandpa is similar in that regard.

Make sure you are able to access all your paperwork somehow. We have all our important documents(insurance, banking etc) scanned and uploaded; and sent to our email as attachments. Worse case is not being able to access internet, but shite would really have to go to hell for access to be down for too long.

My plan is to get taken out in the first wave so I don't have to worry about anything after that. I hope it's nuclear so it doesn't hurt very long.

In a doomsday type scenario, not sure that paperwork would mean anything. If the internet is down, it’s likely that power is too. How do you plan on charging your devices to access these documents?

Get a plot of land in one of the lesser populated states out west.

Hunt, fish and farm to fend for yourself. You may want to acquire a few slaves to help tend the farm.

No one will look for you there.

Stockpile cash, move early and purchase everything you need.

Join small team of like minded individuals and have valuable skills/supplies that can be bartered. (Military, arms/munitions, language skills, labor skills etc)

A tree branch took down the Northeast power grid for a couple of days in 2003, imagine what a few dozen highly motivated Chinamen armed with pliers, a screwdriver, a little bit of experience and an hour can do.

So if SHTF, to some extent of breakdown requiring you to move out of an urban area, the plan is to drive THOUSANDS of miles away? There’s going to be gas stations all along the way right? Makes sense.

I'm good. Lots of food from the sea, few people and restricted transportation access. We also have our own grid.

We are all screwed mobs and numbers rule and can overwhelm anyone and then you will have internal strife in the mob so if you have supplies some group will take them. My advice is have a Nice storage of fuel and food
And improvised flame throwers that’s your best bet against a mob light em up!
