Ronnie has some awesome music that's why...Amazing that If You Dont Want Me To was just an album track and never released as a single. Many have already mentioned a lot of other great Milsap songs...but I'll add It Was Almost Like a Song, There's No Gettin Over Me, Lost in the 50s Tonight, and Houston Solution.

I’d like to know how it started, too, but it’s been going on for as long as I can remember

It’s not a Louisiana wedding reception until you hear, “Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter...ooooh shite!”

I'm 33... girls were literally dancing the freeze to "if you dont want me to" since I middle school dances.

I think the two go well together... plus, that song is a banger

I'm from the Shreveport area. And this phenomenon also caught my attention after going to my first 3 or 4 South Louisiana weddings years ago.

Girls will drop everything they're doing to run to the dance floor.

I've seen this dance my whole adult life at weddings(since 1992).

I thought this was done everywhere. I had no idea it was only our dumb asses in Louisiana.

Oh, why must you come around just to pick me up
So you can watch me hit the ground
Don't you know how much I love you?

The version by The Godfather of Swamp Pop, Warren Storm, is pretty darn good.

And I agree with another poster. Smokey Mountain Rain is awesome.

I remember people doing this at 4-H camp. If that wasn't 40 years ago, it was damn close to it.

Is this the one that speeds up at some point? That's the one I always remember hearing at weddings.
