Toss up between my first kidney stone and throwing my back out and not being able to get off the floor or move for 2 days.

20lb propane cylinder that shifted during the drive in the back of my SUV... I opened the hatch and it rolled out with the flat metal part of the handle smacking into my shin with full force as it fell.

Almost a decade later I still have a dent/bruise and it lights me up any time anything hits that spot (which is soul crushingly often)

Open compound fracture of my left ankle. Got smoked by a 1980s station wagon, got up laughing thinking I was fine until that first step! Not so fine, the pain subsided quickly as adrenaline kicked in and took over. I did look at my leg once.. my foot was hanging from the bone before I just laid back and stared at the sky. I remember being warm and just staring into the clearest blue summer sky. Rehab was a biatch, lots of pain over the next few weeks. I still have this phantom bleeding sensation every now and then.

Having an orthopedic surgeon set my broken wrist by hand

It happened 20 years ago but I can still vividly remember it.

Kidney stone that if condensed into one round mass would’ve been the size of a golf ball.

A close second was when my kid whacked me in the stones with a toy telephone and it ruptured blood vessels in my bean purse.

Pretty certain I had acute pancreatitis after drinking beer + eating oysters all night one time. The cyclical throbbing pain made me cry.

Appendicitis as a kid. Almost died.

Dry socket after wisdom teeth removal in HS. Started on a Friday and didn’t see the surgeon for follow up until Monday. I had already ran out of pain meds and my mom didn’t understand why I needed more. When the doc told her what was causing my pain, she felt horrible.

Been there done that as well… also, staph infection abscess on groin that had to be lanced and drained, that was easy. Stuffing it full of 2 ft of gauze without deadening the area first made me almost pass out. Surgery table looked like a pool of blood after cutting that highly vascular area

Gallbladder attacks
Hell itch (rare but terrible reaction to fairly typical sunburn)
Falling on ladder and cracking a rib
Breaking my wrist (blacked out bc pain was so wild at first. Was a kid)
Breaking my skull (projectile vomiting to boot)
Tooth root pain during root canal (very brief very intense pain)
