If you're 40 and single/never been married/etc., you need to look in the mirror and figure out what you're problem is. That's way more than being choosy. Something is wrong with you as an individual.

Im over 40 and have been married.. but i also think you are dead wrong …. Marriage is not for everyone, and isnt some ‘end all/be all’.. people who think like that are the *actual* problem.. matter of fact, with the way the laws are tilted, getting married is a pretty foolish thing to do IMO, if you have options .. I started dating 40 year olds in my twenties.

I'm single, in my early 50s and never been married. Have a son that's in his 30s, and he means the world to me. Dating nowadays is very difficult. I simply believe social media is the culprit and it's hard to find anyone who has morals and principles. If she has kids fine. Grandkids, ok. Stop taking selfies at 45 driving to restaurant. Maybe it's just my experience. Joke all you want. Relationships are very difficult

That depends a lot on where you live. Large urban areas have plenty of ‘normal’ 40 year olds who haven’t been married.

I think the worst part for me was when I realized while out on a date with a woman in her very early 40’s that grandmothers were suddenly in my dating pool. It never occurred to me until she started talking about her grand babies. I was not prepared for that realization

I'm in great physical condition for almost 53. With a couple of exceptions. I walk with a limp from surgery, and the cardiologist told me to wear compression socks because I have a blood flow problem in my legs.
But I'd be lying if I didn't admit my brain goes into those dark recesses on occasion.
