Injury - torn Achilles. Surprisingly, didn't hurt that bad.

Pain - possibly the time I made a sliding catch in a coed softball tournament on the parade grounds and ended up with a brush burn covering pretty much the entire lower leg and a major portion of my buttocks. Can't imagine the pain actual burn victims feel.

Or when I was suffering from De Quervain's syndrome (tendonitis in my wrist) and I tried to swat a fly. Ended up crumpled on the kitchen floor in pain.

Probably when a 95 mph fastball in the dirt cracked my cup in half when I blocked it. There weren’t any runners on and I should have let it hit the umpire

Hemorrhoid surgery- having to take a dump before being released was excruciating.

4 Broken back ribs. Absolutely miserable. Couldn’t lie down to sleep for a month.

The emotional kind when my father was in a coma for 4 weeks (thanks to a drunk driver). Then he "woke up" and lived mentally handicapped for 10 years (he couldn't remember who I was for the last 10 years of his life). I was depressed. I drank hard. I let my family down. It fricked me up.

You can crush every nerve ending in my body, but I'll say emotional pain is the worst kind.

As I said in another thread: once put a defibrillator to my leg and set it off.

That shite hurt.

Calf muscle didn't unclench for 3 hours.

Top of my head hit the ceiling.

I didn't jump.

shite hurt.

Just seeing your pics hurt me. Terrible situation for you and your friend. How's your recovery going? Weren't you having some nerve damage problems? Hope things are getting better for both of you.

An acquaintance of mine was a Catcher at Villanova in the early '80s. He once told me that he'd had not one, but two, cups break. I didn't think that could happen and I'm certainly glad I never experienced it. He has two kids, so I assume any damage was only temporary.

Broken Femur that was held together with rods for around a year after a car ran a stop sign and smoked me on my R1. 3 weeks in a hospital bed following emergency surgery to prevent femural artery damage. Followed with 3 months in a wheel chair and another 6 on crutches as I relearned to walk.
Wouldn’t wish it on a worst enemy.

I've had multiple major orthopedic surgeries from sports injuries, been hit with more than one roadside bomb including one that threw me against the side of a vehicle at quite a force, stitches galore, shrapnel in foot, a hernia, etc., etc...

Nothing will ever compare in pure pain to the eye infection I got while on a 96 hour patrol when deployed. Not a chance in hell. Just the sheer peep of light was so painful that I was bent over nearly crying in pain. Only thing even in the same ballpark was after the local blocker wore off on a torn Achilles surgery in the middle of the night and I hadn't taken enough opiates to stave off the pain for a whole night.

I scalped myself on an oak tree branch in March 2011. Had a very nice concussion to boot. Have pics of the open wound and show it to friends/etc. Prob 30 staples and layered stitches. I still get "lightning" in my head every now and again, which I have been told is nerves reconnecting. That seems far-fetched though, as it's been 7 years.

Herniated disc. Was trying PT but woke up one Saturday morning and couldn't move. I downed 15 advil and by noon could sort of move. My 4'10 90 lb wife was no help in me getting to the car to go to Baylor emergency room. They shot me up with something that did nothing and kicked me out. I spent saturday and Sunday in agony..... Couldn't sit on the toilet and could only squat to take a dump on the floor. 48 hours with no sleep before a neurosurgeon I had luckily met with 6 weeks earlier would meet me in the emergency room on Monday. They put me on demerol which made me puke and so switched me to morphine. Finally had surgery on Wednesday and woke up pain free.

also had a polimidal cyst on my tailbone...not one position was comfortable enough for me to be still for more than a minute

no broken bones, surgeries though so ive been fortunate in that regard

My dad is one tough sob and he has been kicked by a horse 3 times that I know of. The third time was the worst when he was trimming a horse and it kicked sideways and broke his kneecap and the bones around it.

I didn't read the whole thread, but if nobody has said this, then I would imagine it would have to rank high.

I know of a guy (not me) who actually broke his dick during hard sex. Had to go to ER and then have some sort of surgery. I don't know other details about how post-op went, but that had to suck.
