King Tut's sarcophagus ....

I saw the King Tut exhibit in N.O. when it was at the Museum Of Art in City Park back in the mid 70's.

I was amazed at the sophistication of the articles on display that were made in antiquity.

I went to the NOLA exhibit and a few years later got to tour the Egyptian Museum and see a lot of the stuff that didn't go on tour...

I scooped up a sea horse in the bay north of Lavarre I think. We're talking 1971, so I could be wrong as to the location. We were on the bay side, netting for bait to night fish in a plastic boat.
Of course we let it go, but is that common to have sea horses in that close?

shite, I was alone in Tut's tomb with his mummy a couple of years ago. It's located in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor.

Playing rec league volleyball, a guy on our team spiked the ball hard. The ball bounced off a girl’s head and then flew back and swished through the basketball goal. It seemed liked it was in slow motion as it went through. The gym erupted after it happened

I see a pair of Whooping Cranes with a young one pretty regular. Not sure how many there are in the world but probably less than a 1000.

The actual end of a rainbow. Studying for finals back in the early 90s at Christian Street Townhouses.....big springtime thunderstorm hits and moves through the area quickly. After the deluge, I step outside and there is a brilliant rainbow descending from over the interstate into the fenced area around the perimeter of the townhouse complex. I called for my roommate and he walked through the end of the rainbow until it was between he and I and then I did the same. No pot of gold...you couldn’t see it when you were in it....but the observer could see you move through it. Not many can say that they have stood at the end of a rainbow, but I have.

I was doing an internship with the Conservators at the Egyptian Museum and a couple of the guys were goofing around and one of them broke the damn beard off of the burial mask of Tutankhamun. The other guys that worked there came up with the grand idea of glueing it back on. They asked me how I thought it looked and I was like guys I don’t know shite about this but I think some of the model airplanes I built when I was a kid looked better than that hot mess. They were having no part of my opinion though and went ahead with their well orchestrated plan.

As you can guess that charade did not last long and it ended up making the news over there. That is the exact time I decided I needed a new profession so I came back home. There are real dumb asses the world over even in professions you thought were held to a little higher standard.
