So if your parents are very well off $10 mil+ and want to vacation, are they only supposed to vacation on their own?

I mean even if you are a doctor in their 30s making $200k with 3 kids a big blowout vacation for a week may not be something you can easily afford.

As a grandparent, what do you tell your kids that you only want to vacation with the grandkids because the kids are not successful enough to ball out on vacation like they can?

My dad doesnt pay for my family or two of my sisters, but will pay for the one sister who can't afford it. Also takes my neice on trips very often.

I don't mind it at all and think its a great thing. If I couldnt afford I am sure he would pay for mine too.

My grandparents paid for vacations for the whole family(dad has 4 sisters) mutiple times. It was better than giving it to the government when they died.

So to answer the question, no I don't think its trashy so long as the parents don't feel obligated, want to do it and can afford it.

We used time share for Disney. Grandparents of friends have always paid. We take them out and buy a meal or two while in Orlando.

Lol. Old grandpa sneaks a $100 back to us. Can't remember how he did it. Put it in a wallet or wife's purse. We protested. He laughed and said he'd give it to our 5 year old if we gave it back. Some grandparents like dropping cash on shite like that sometimes. We tried to sneak another dinner tab away from him but he caught us.

We're taking our adult kids, their spouses, and our grandson to Italy next summer for 3 weeks. We asked them to pay for their airfare from SFO to Rome, then we're picking up the tab for everything else, housing, meals, flights to Sardegna and Sicily. Don't see anything trashy about it.

My mom takes us on two vacations a year. One to the beach and one to Las Vegas. She pays for lodging, airfare and most meals. Grandkids get to go on the beach trip. In Vegas, we spend our own money on gambling. She loves it.

My mom took me and my daughter to Kauai for 10 days. I was appreciative because tbh I couldn't afford it. Fwiw I am a little trashy.

We just did that for ours. Three grown kids in three states, and one grandchild make it tough to get together all at once. Money well spent, but I'm trashy.

I just paid for my wife's brothers and sister and their families.....didn't give a frick ....they aren't financially set....but I enjoy their company and the memories with my own kids.

Same boat. My parents pay for all our vacations together. Even dining out.

Every Christmas we vacay with the inlaws from Hazel Green, AL. We pay for a rental house in the mountains. Doesn't bother me at all and it's something that they wouldn't be able to do otherwise.
