Elaborate on this ??
They would fly around and pick people up, but nobody actually ordered the service…but, once they found somebody they’d send the bill to LDH. The standing joke at the time was “nobody was made whole after Katrina, except Acadian”
Hornbeck Offshore used the same gameplan after the 2016 flood. They just rolled up, parked their Flotel in Baton Rouge, and then demanded a state contract.
That ship sat empty for months. But, they were ultimately paid.

Just means he was in a BLS unit and not an ALS unit. When my son broke his arm I just loaded him up in my truck. ETA: I assume he was already splinted? If he was, not much else they can do. If they were only EMTs (BLS care) and not paramedics (ALS care) they can't give meds. ALS unit would have cost even more
This was another controversy the MCOs lost their minds about. Acadian got the state to agree at one point to transport billing based on the credentials of the drivers instead of the level of care that was needed.
When mayor Sid was elected the first thing he did was propose that EMS should be offered as transportation alternative.
Acadian’s PR team went on the offensive and complained that nobody expressed any dissatisfaction with their ability to provide service…and dodged the dissatisfaction with their price tag.

Yep. They will not negotiate with insurance companies. Therefore it's out of network.

Maybe that company that Bill Gates uses as a front to buy up all the farm land? He's the largest landowner in the state.

I've done the same before with bogus medical bills. More people need to do this. It works better, though, if you also write them a letter telling them how dumb their bill is and that you're disputing it. That neuters them before it goes to collections. And if it still goes to collections just send the collection agency a copy of your letter and the date. The collection agency will kick it back to the hospital/service provider. They are fricked at that point.

Ochsner’s billing/administrative department. The Dr’s and medical staff are great but their billing and other administrative items are evil.

quote:I was billed $700 for 5ml (1tsp) of acetaminophen (Tylenol) for my daughter. I could buy a liter of the stuff (intravenous) for $60 on Amazon. I offered them $60, and told them to send me to collections immediately if they didn't accept. They sent six more letters. I attached every previous letter to the current letter each time for a bit over 18 months, insisting they send me to collections. They gave up. Legit bills, fine. Trying to exploit me for all the bills that illegals and poors didn't pay for, take a dive.
