Figures.

The older we get, the more the “good old days” look more appealing.

But the reality is that a larger number of Americans have it “good or better” than any time in US history.

I think these United States will likely be ok.

fricked, we've already done a lot of dumb shite. If they get a reparations bill through it'll be one dumb thing too far. No turning back at that it'll either be a slow degradation down to South Africa level of shitiness or there will be a very destructive civil war.

Eventually you run out of other people's money. Hopefully I'm dead and buried when that happens.

Look back at the 60s or 70s for real strife and issues for the country, economically and socially.

The internet sky is falling but not the real world. Get out more.

If message boards had existed back in the day your parents would have posted the same thing.

As well as their parents, and their parents, and their parents...

Every generation thinks the next one is taking the country to the shitter.

Remember when Obama was going to ruin the country economically?

I say that not in support of his policies, but to highlight the resiliency of the American economy. Historically, this baby chugs along with or without proper leadership in DC.

You’re historically right. But things have changed. The Democrat Party has lurched so far left that if they get back into power in 2020 and do what they want to do this isn’t going to be the same country you and I know today. The base of the Democrat Party has been radicalized to where they openly embrace socialism and want nothing more than its implementation. If they win Inc 2020, that’s where they’re going to try to take us.

Obama was more to the left than Hillary is/was, so meh.

ZOMG! They want to move to a health care system that isn't driven by profit and doesn't carry the risk of financial ruin for an illness beyond someone's control. The horror!!!

The same fears were said about Obama, and he had a super majority when he took office and they didn't try. If a dem wins the WH in 2020, he/she is NOT going to have a super majority, and likely not even the Senate, so you can calm down and come off that ledge.

sounds eerily similar to liberals in 2016, doesn't it?

how do so many people fall for fear mongering?

Yes it was. Venezuela has a long history of political and social unrest because their entire economy is based on one product - oil - so it is ripe for corruption.

Do you even pay attention to our politicians?

Hell you had presidential candidates on national TV last night fighting over who could promise the most free shite.

This country is moving left, and will continue to do so. And eventually there won't be anyone left to pay for all the "free" stuff the politicians bought votes with.

We'll collapse from within, just like Rome. Might be ten years, might be 50, but it will happen.

Of course. This administration is easily the most corrupt one in my lifetime.

Ok.

And eventually it will collapse.

Because eventually you run out of other people's money. Free college, free health care, unchecked immigration, and increase in other social programs will take care of that rather quickly.

Really?!

With white supremacist marches and race related issues becoming more precedent since 2016? Yeah...ok...
