Economical.
- Judging on the empirical data of the US economy the past 50 years, from a cyclical standpoint we should be trending upwards, coming out of a recession. Outside chance the student loan bubble goes bust, but I don't think that happens for another 20 years when Boomers lifetime savings are tied up in way-to-big, and way-to-far homes that millenials either (a) don't want to buy, or (b) don't have the credit/funds for, due to their student loan debt, cratering the demand for housing and a lot of people's net worth.
Socially.
- I think we'll continue to embrace more liberal views towards each other (which I don't think will be a bad thing). Yes, today there are a lot of folks who get offended too easily. However, I think the message being sent that it's OK to be whatever religion, color, sexual orientation has led to millennials and Gen Z to be the most accepting people our country has ever seen. There's a lot of positives to that.
Military.
- Strong as frick. The military is the "football" of the US budget. We don't cut corners here.
Race relations.
- See 2 above, but, really good. I think there's been a lot of positive dialogue. There are racists everywhere, and that won't go away overnight. But for the major US cities, it's not a big issue. Our fair southern states will be the last to evolve, but, that's pretty par for the course.
Just in the last decade we have
Lost so many values as Americans.
- Baby boomers grew up during the 80's and 90's of Wall Street, and created the biggest economic collapse since the great depression. They've also had the highest divorce rate of any generation the past century. Millenials also drink and smoke exponentially less, and exercise considerably more than Baby boomers. Hopefully by old man, you're of the "greatest generation," not the morally bankrupt one that talks a big game, but quite honestly sucks and hasn't ascertained that technology and digital skills are necessary in today's society.
I thank goodness I'm an old man already...
You need to travel. I've been to some pretty bad countries on business... you have literally no idea how bad some people have. And by some people, I literally mean millions.

In the countries where it works, they have a way higher percentage of people paying in.
Plus they basically tell you what job you will have and they have forced assimilation.
Good luck.

I think you need to take a trip to the coasts. It's easy to lecture about racism when you live in a community that's 80-90% white.

Atlanta is pretty black, my dude. And what coasts are you referring to?

India...larger pop, more diverse, large immigrant pop. And a greater economic stratification due to the Caste system.
Indonesia fits your criteria too.

Very smart people are still graciously taking US 30 bonds at sub 2.6%. They're not quite a skeptical as you
False dichotomy. No one is graciously taking anything. The rest of the global economy sucks arse at the moment so your point doesn't prove anything. We seem to be entering a new era of stagnation coupled with low inflation to secular deflation in the developed world. Saying that it will just keep chugging along just because it always has is stupid.

Do you know how 30 year rates are set? It's an auction. If people thought the US was ripe for inflation and chaos over the next 30 years, they wouldn't touch the debt for 2.6%.
