rigging elections to maintain absolute power

The Deep State already does this. Voting is a sham to give the peasants the illusion of having power.

It needs us to keep its power on for now, so it will focus on keeping us distracted with other things.

I can't watch a college football game without the yellow line.

My dad called it the "dummy line" when it first came out. I thought it was ridiculous.

He was right.

This is honestly the biggest risk in the longer term. If we make it that far before it launches nukes behind our backs.

A rogue AI agent will hamstring operations at some large company in some capacity because its permissions weren't gated properly.

You have to get alignment right 100% of the time.

You only have to be wrong once for the shite to hit the fan.

Your entire financial worth is just an electronic record. That would seem like a high value target for bad actors/rogue AI.

We have financial records and backups across multiple institutions including air gapped backups. The govt also insured your holdings.

If you are gambling in crypto though you are correct, you are screwed. But that's by design, because it was designed for fraud from the beginning

But wouldn't we also use AI to keep it from happening?
Yes we could. But it’s possible those AI go rogue and start secretly working with bad actor AIs.

And the reason we’d need our own AI to keep the other AI in check is that they’ll be way smarter than us humans. We wouldn’t be able to control it ourselves.

You can surely see the potential for this to get way out of our control.
