88 Mercury Cougar that I painted purple and gold while I was at LSU.
I also had an 87 suburu hatchback that I drove with a piece of fishing string attached to the throttle because i broke the gas peddle and I was too cheap to replace it.

See you a Pontiac Sunbird and raise you a Jeepster Commando.
The Jeep broke down in Virginia, east Tn, west Tn, Colorado, New Mexico, and New York Adirondacks and then in Buffalo. And it was a really simple engine with nothing automatic.
eta, how could I forget Georgia on a Friday night?

I feel your pain...Mine rotted out at the back windows and the motor died the same month I made my last payment.
Total piece of CRAP..

83 s10 4x4. 2.8 v6. Probably had about 50hp. Couldn't climb out of a pothole it was so weak.

I had a 82 long bed, one of the first built. Kept it for 10 years and drove the heck out of it. Everything worked when I sold it and I would see it around town for the next five. Luck of the draw I guess.

92 Honda Prelude
2 timing belts, starter, alternator, distributor, ignition, several 02 sensors, anti lock brake system, so many A/C repairs I gave up, clutch, and finally the motor.

Either the 1973 Vega GT, or the 1979 Pontiac Sunbird. If I have to pick, I say the Sunbird because the speedometer/odometer never worked, and it was an automatic. I think the Vega looked better too.

Had a '78 Ford pick-em up bought new with 3 on the column. The frickin' shift lever snapped leaving me to drive home in 2nd gear. The other Ford was a car magnet, they kept running into me. No Fords since then.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4X4...A real dog, and the service dept at the dealer I took it to was even more of a dog. First and only Chrysler for me.

‘71 VW Squareback. Horrible brakes, worse transmission. Only thing that worked consistently was the clock

91 Ford tarus. On third transmission by 70k. Wipers wouldn’t stay on so you had to keep pulling on the washer wiper lever when it would rain. Would go out then in gear between first and second so it bark the tires every time. Coming over the vermilion on east brousard rd the hood flew up on the windshield tommy boy style. Had to keep power steering fluid on hand because it always leaked. And the radiator crapped out around 50k. Many more minor problems

1974 Cutlass Supreme man was it a POS
I had one of these and it was a POS! Gas gauge and speedometer didn’t work so I was constant running out of gas.
My biggest POS though was a 1974 Ford Courier with a hydraulic clutch that stayed broken. I must have put 4 or 5 of them on it in 40k Miles of driving.
Learned the art of power shifting, coasting at red lights with out stopping and starting a vehicle while in first gear.

1987 Jeep Pioneer. Had it my first three years of college - ‘99 -‘01. Not bad for getting around town but was damn loud and would shake like crazy if you went over 65 mph.

My first car was a 1990 Ford Tempo. If you got the car up to 80, you thought it was going to explode for the vibration and the heat would melt some $50 computer modular that I would have to replace. Total POS

My very first vehicle was an old truck that my father had retired from his work fleet and kept on our hunting property in South Georgia. It was a 1984 Dodge Power Ram 4x4 (I started driving in 2000), grey. Multiple dents, the bench seat had a huge hole in the middle of the vinyl, and it was missing the tailgate. It already had roughly 200k on it and, aside from burning just a little oil, ran like a dream. After a year of driving it, I kept up my end of the bargain (no tickets, kept my grades up, stayed out of any kind of big trouble) so I got a Wrangler. Sometimes I miss the Grey Ghost, because it was a beast, but it was a total piece of shite. My girlfriend refused to be seen inside of it.
Edit: looking back on it all, frick her. That truck was a helluva lot more dependable than she ever was.
