I mean liquid you pour on the food, not pills. Seems like there's a bunch of cheap Chinese stuff on Amazon that I just don't want to wade through

Some dogs react badly to it (bowel issues) some don’t. It good for them though.

It's not rocket science. Get some for yourself while you're at it and just throw a capsule of the same one in his bowl of food everyday. I had a vet try to sell me fish oil "specially formulated for dogs". Whatever one is good enough for you is good enough for dogs.

Look up Adored Beast for a product. Not cheap, but quality. I give my dog a 1/2 cap of EVOO with meals for skin.

Side question: can you cook with fish oil and would anything taste good?

When we added fish oil to our elderly Aussie's diet, she went from groaning every time she got up or laid down to no sound at all and noticeably more active, right up until everything else went a few years later.

OP, we've used the NatureMade brand from Costco capsules. You don't need the enteric coated ones, fish oil burps to a dog are a feature, not a bug. The first few times, prick the capsule with a needle and squeeze a little oil out. The dog will get the message pretty quick that chewing on these things leads to a good treat and you won't have to do that any more.
