Fill in the blank…

I’ll pay you ______. Take your time, do it right. You’ll have a cashable check every Friday afternoon.

Would you settle on a polish carpenter for half the price?

Are you talking about permanent job or a one tune deal? Big difference in price IMO.

Finnish carpenters take Euros.

So like 100 Euros and some salted, dried fish.

$30hr if no benefits.

ETA, if you want the educated, professional business owner type, double or triple that.

The problem is that the good ones start their own business and end up managing others instead of using their skills on tools.

Jack of all trades?

Some work is detailed finish, some is a standard trade work.

Pay by the job, not hourly. Paying hourly will guarantee that you get into the situation of someone dragging their feet and taking their sweet arse time just so they can get a few more hours on your payroll.

What’s the project? Is it a one day job or a months worth of work?

which one do you need? 2 different skill sets

eta: just saw it's a one time job. you should, without a doubt, get a handyman to do your finish work. There is absolutely no reason at all that a finish carpenter is going to cost way, way more.

Your looking for someone who is very skilled but a drug addict and unreliable. The guy your looking for owns his own business and makes much more than your willing to pay.

Double that if you’re taking hourly rate for an independent good quality finish carpenter. You likely won’t be able to find a real good one right now though for something like this

$43.75 up to $50 an hour for a legitimate normal small business handyman that does not have a drug problem and you are able to communicate with in English and has insurance and his own properly working tools. At that rate you should expect someone that will show up on time and communicate any issues with you effectively.

You know running a business has cost and taxes associated with it that the dude has to cover.

Now if your just looking for unskilled labor that you will have trouble communicating with and they don't pay taxes go to Home Depot and pick one up for $150 to $200 a day.

So no shite you are looking at around $350 a day.

That is me. Depending on what you want done, I'm gonna bill out at least 60/hr.

I say around $25-$30.

Edt: Good ones would be closer to $50.
