Garage door, trimmer, photographic processing techniques, simple car repair things, vacation places to visit

YouTube has come in handy a number of times.

Replaced my garage door spring/coil, a couple of washer/dryer repairs, and some PC issues.

Youtube eventually helped.

It started with ChatGPT to diagnose why my refrigerator ice maker was leaking water from the dispenser and ice cubes were smaller. It asked me a few questions and follow up questions to diagnose the problem as a valve where the water line connects to the appliance. It then identified the part to order for replacement and gave me a few options.

The YouTube video showed me how to replace. But it was wrong. The expert’s part was different part I had. I searched for a better match and didn’t find it. But it was still helpful to get the tips and suggestions for cleaning out all the dust that gathers while I was down there.

The ads are extremely annoying. They were already frequent but now they’re pushing the envelope “because they can” with now making multiple ads rather than just skipping the ad. Now they have a “next ad” in that spot.

and I will still not pay for premium. Because I know that’s what they want

Learned to sweat copper. Many plumbing repairs for both me and family and friends. Especially after that hard freeze a few years ago.

Fixed an oil leak on a Honda GVC 160 engine pressure washer.

The key is figuring out which videos are the actual correct repair. The first 3-4 videos all pointed to just replacing or resealing the valve cover. The correct fix was eventually found in the comments which led me to another video identifying a simple and small O ring behind the cover.

Took the carb off of my 4wheeler and cleaned it.

Changed oil, fuel filter and air filter on my gator.

Cleaned pool filters for the first time.

Bought a 800# gun safe and used it to figure out best way to get it off the pallet.

That’s all in the last two weeks. A lot of times I use it for things I know how to do but watch someone else do it to see if there’s a better way.

I can't recall exactly because I will do a search to verify things I already know and check if there are better ways.

Motorcycle, car, truck washer/dryers, fireplace, computer, etc. The list is long.

This - and just simple reassurance before I possibly ruin whatever it is I’m trying to save.

Dishwasher replacement
Oven door inner glass cleaning
A part in my wife's car engine

A friend said he is now using ChatGPT. He can take pictures and it will tell him what part he needs and where parts are, etc.

So far, cementing wooden fence posts, belts for our vehicles, brakes calipers rotors change, dryer, dish washer, ceiling fan installation, TV mounts i think, probably forgetting a couple of things.

Helped a lot as a first time home owner.
